Michelle taught Modern Foreign Languages for over thirty years: French from Nursery to A Level, German from KS2 to KS3, Beginners Russian as well as GCSE English Language and Literature.
She worked in a variety of educational settings: grammar schools, international school, comprehensive schools, hospital schools, pupil referral units and in a girls school. She taught single and mixed sex classes as well as streamed, setted and mixed ability classes.
Michelle specialised in teaching Modern Foreign Languages to those with Special Needs (medical, social, educational and behavioural). She taught English to Russian-speaking Afghan refugees; French and German to ex-pats; and languages to all age groups through the media of sport and music.
Gifted Education was also one of Michelle's specialisms. She gained a Certificate in Gifted Education from the University of Roehampton in partnership with GIFT; was a Subject Matter Expert; and worked with children on the Gifted and Talented Register.
Although now retired from teaching full-time, Michelle continues her love of languages by supporting adults in their language learning: hosting French Lunches; and running French Film Nights and German Film Nights.
